WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Structural Engineering Designer is responsible for assisting the Senior Structural Engineer in design and analysis efforts on a variety of infrastructure projects. Preferably, the person in this position possesses or is eager to develop strong technical design, modeling, and CAD skills, and has the aptitude for future management and supervisory skills with the ability to coordinate design for multi-disciplinary building and site development design projects as needed.
The person in this position must have knowledge of the pertinent building codes and be able to quickly learn and apply other design codes as necessary to meet project objectives. This person shall demonstrate familiarity and experience related to structural engineering and willingly accept leadership and guidance from engineering team members, as necessary.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Thorough understanding of International Building Codes, Oregon Structural Specialty Codes, and reference codes pertaining to wood, concrete, masonry, and steel.
Independently perform structural engineering related calculations, analysis, and design tasks.
Independently write technical specifications, reports, and other correspondence to a variety of audiences.
Perform independent checking of the design work of other team members.
Interact with teaming partners in a professional manner to develop project solutions.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Work closely with Program Management, Engineering, and Marketing to conceptualize projects and respond to proposals.
Have an appreciation and take ownership of budgets and schedules to ensure compliance with cost, time, quality and quantity objectives and priorities.
Work with senior designers and management to execute corporate global objectives.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned and needed.
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) & AutoCAD
Experience Preferred: Revit, 3D structural modeling analysis programs
